Start at the CHAP Art Factory for an introduction to all of the volunteer opportunities listed below! Our volunteer training sessions are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 6pm-8pm at the Art Factory.

This requires a minimum 9-month commitment of 4 to 12 hours per week, and some training.

Work to include:

• Beading with children and families outside surgery wards
• Assisting CHAP teaching artists in group classes in hospital playrooms
• Assisting CHAP teaching artists in bedside art classes on the Oncology Ward

Art Club is Held in CHAP's Pearl District Studio. Come make art with the children and families CHAP has served in Portland's Children's Hospitals Projects vary weekly and they're always incredibly spirited! Past Art Clubs have included painting the CHAP Art-Mobile and "Jumping on the Bed" with painted feet!

Retail tasks (pricing, restocking, window & store displays, sizing, accounting), Theatre/Dance production & set design, Promotions (flyering,etc.) Silk-screening, Jewelry-making, Soliciting & gathering donations of clothing and art materials, and many varied art-making tasks.

Community Outreach Events: CHAP participates in 12+ fun community events each year from the Mississippi Street Fair to Art Night at City Hall. We need help with set up, running art programs, and breakdown.

CHAP Fundraisers Tasks: Event production/coordination, set-up, break-down, onsite (cooks & servers)

• Data entry, grant assistance, press kit assembly and more
• Arranging & making presentations about CHAP's mission and programs to elementary & high schools, and various community groups

Scanning of children's artwork is needed for our digital library, as well as product layout (greeting cards, rug and fabric designs, etc). This can be completed at the CHAP Art Factory, or scanning can be done outside of the factory.

We will work with you to fulfill your requirements within our fun and art-filled program
