CHAP Holiday Bizarre

CHAP's Holiday Bizarre will be a 28-day non-stop art-making factory. This educational, fundraising, performance, event and retail space will be open November 27 through December 24 in the new Art Factory in Portland's Pearl District. The Holiday Bizarre will feature ongoing art activities with CHAP's young artists, families, teaching artists, board, and community volunteers mixing with the children and families of Portland.

CHAP's Holiday Bizarre invites the public to come MAKE gifts, holiday ornaments, tree toppers and gift wrap, or stencil on one of the thousands of garments donated by Columbia Sportswear. CHAP will host art workshops including a landscape painting class led by Teresa, an eight-year-old artist born without arms who will teach her students how to paint with their feet! Northwest Professional Dance Project will lead "Cracked Nutz", an 8-minute version of "The Nutcracker" danced by children in walkers and wheelchairs from Shriners Hospital, and students from the Washington School for the Blind. Experience the healing power of art first hand at the Holiday Bizarre.
